The second episode of “Talks that Matter…”, held on 15th September 2021 had Honourable Cabinet Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Smriti Irani in conversation with Arun M. Kumar, Chairman and CEO, KPMG in India. Smt. Smriti Irani spoke about various measures undertaken by the government for advancing women’s rights and how these further women’s agency for powering India’s economic growth. Apart from being a distinguished political personality, she is actively involved in causes related to people from economically weaker backgrounds.
The inaugural Talk, held on 6th July 2021, was by India’s Union Finance Secretary, Dr. T. V. Somanathan on ‘The Indian economy: a governance perspective’. Apart from being a bureaucrat of considerable distinction, Dr. Somanathan is also in some sense a polymath, with a mastery of domains ranging from the Vedas to Derivatives. Dr. Somanathan was in conversation with Arun M. Kumar, Chairman and CEO, KPMG in India.
